The James Family

It is so nice when a family decides to get together for a family portrait. It doesn't happen that often and it can be a bit stressful getting everyone to agree on the details but when it happens it is so much fun.

We spent the afternoon at the beautiful West Fork in the canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff. The weather just turned from summer to fall so we really enjoyed the cooler weather, the amazing scenery, and the great company. Ron and I felt like part of the family and we appreciated that!

Liz and Mike have become good friends of ours. Our daughters are going to be great friends (even if they don't know it quite yet.) You might remember just a few months ago I posted some stunning portraits of Liz while she was pregnant with MJ. As you can see, he's here!

Mom and Dad of the whole clan. Their kids made them smile while Ron and I coerced them into some PDA.

Melissa's family.

The infamous Bridget. She is soooo cute!

Lori + Jim

They were married on September 15th at L'Auberge de Sedona. It took them many years to find each other but it was worth the wait -- a story that rings true to my life too.

I love this portrait of Lori and her mom before the wedding ceremony. This is the best reason to be there to photograph the bride getting ready ... amazing relationships and emotional moments. This beautiful suite is in the Creek House at L'Auberge.

The wedding ceremony was creekside at L'Auberge.

Margaret Van Damme performed a beautiful ceremony. This is a sweet photo of the ring exchange and Jim's snug fitting wedding ring.

This wonderful moment took place after Lori & Jim's ceremony. Ron and I were playing with the lighting as they waved to their guests who came to peek at the romantic portrait session. Jim shows off his wedding ring :)

Lori was exquisite. Her happiness was contagious -- like you wish for all brides. Her beautiful bouquet was created by Bliss Extraordinary Floral of Sedona.

Ron really wanted to create a photo that accentuated Lori's beautiful blue eyes and smile. Make-up was by Liz Margin and hair by Jenny Bertolini.

Jim & Lori's entrance to their reception.

Their cake was three layers of yummy and elegant. It was created by Sedona Sweet Arts. It said "Live, Laugh, Love."

I feel very lucky to have met and photographed Lori & Jim. I wasn't their original photographer but somehow fate stepped in and enabled me to be a part of their amazing union and celebration.

Yesterday Lori sent me this email, "You and Ron were wonderful to work with. We couldn't have imagined having anyone but the two of you at our wedding to document our "big day". I received many compliments about how well you maneuvered around us and our guests. You two were very professional and experienced in every way. Everyone thought that you were the sweetest lady they had met, and that you have a perfect, warm smile. My mom was especially impressed. We all loved having you there!"

It really makes me happy that Ron and I are able to add to a wedding experience (and not be a part of the stress) to not only document their love but to truly share the happiness and excitement with Lori & Jim!

Emilie + Gannon

They were married at the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona on September 8th. Emilie grew up in Sedona so it was the perfect location for her wedding.

The light was perfect so you could really enjoy the red rock views from the church.

I love bubbles at the wedding recessional. Everyone really gets involved and has a good time.

Emilie's mom set the standard!

Emilie's gorgeous bouquet and flower arrangements were created by Show Stoppers.

After their wedding ceremony, Emilie & Gannon posed for portraits at Posse Ground Park in Sedona. They were so natural together that we all had a really great time!

Some people really dread having their photographs taken but Emilie & Gannon could have directed the entire photo shoot.

I love this passionate wedding portrait!

Their reception was at the Agave Center catered by Rosalie's of Sedona. The room looked gorgeous ... the linens, the plates, the chairs, the flowers ... and of course the food was delicious as usual.

Their exquisite cake was created by Sedona Cake Couture.

Emilie and Gannon toasted their marriage with their families. Everyone was so happy for them. It was a pleasure to photograph! Congratulations!

Sandra + Dylan

They returned to Sedona (where they met at Sedona Red Rock High School) to get married on September 7th at the Sedona Golf Resort on a beautiful, beautiful day!

Sandra's grandmother gives her a special blessing before the wedding ceremony. It was a tearful moment!

Sandra's grandfather and father walk her down the aisle.

Their ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew. Isn't this a breathtaking location with the red rocks in the background.

We had a blast after the ceremony photographing Sandra & Dylan on the golf course. They are super nice people.

They looked gorgeous together. Sandra's lovely flowers were designed by Angel Flower Florist.

Ron and I are really excited about their portraits. The sky is reflected in the water.

Their cake was designed by Sedona Sweet Arts and was delicious and beautiful as always.

Tania + Kevin

They traveled from Chicago to Sedona's famous Merry Go Round for their September 6th wedding.

Tania waited for friends and family to arrive before hiking to her ceremony.

I love Tania's shoes and I love that she didn't try to hike in her heels like some brides do.

Tania's daughter was an important part of the ceremony performed by Rev. Andrew. Isn't this the most amazing location to get married! It's a really long & bumpy drive but worth it!

A romantic portrait.

Look where they are sitting!

A beautiful sunset.

Somerset + Steven

After many afternoons of Sedona rain, Somerset & Steven were married on September 2nd on a beautiful (and dry) day at the Amara Resort. Karen Lynn helped plan their gorgeous wedding and Liz Margin did Somerset's beautiful make-up.

Somerset sees Steven before their wedding in their honeymoon suite.

Steven's awesome reaction to seeing Somerset in her wedding gown for the first time.

At the ceremony, Somerset is escorted down the aisle by her father. Steven's best man L.D. came all the way from Idaho to design the flowers.

This classy ride was a surprise from Somerset to Steven. It chauffeured them to Munds Wagon Trailhead in Sedona for some romantic portraits. It was hard to tell who was more excited about the Bentley.

Their cake was delicious! Ron forced me to try both the white layer and the chocolate layer ... it was created by Sedona Sweet Arts.

They laughed together the entire day. I was so happy to photograph their happiness! Jeanie Carroll provided the sound and music at their wedding celebration. The dance floor was full the entire night and the party continued after Somerset & Steven's sparkling departure!

Ron took this awesome photograph.

Mazel Tov!

Congratulations to Jacob who became a Bar Mitzvah on September 1st at the Jewish Community Center of Sedona.

I love this photo of Rabbi Alicia Magal with Jacob. The service was a beautiful one as always!

Jacob's grandmother and Aunt had an Aliyah during the reading of the Torah.

These beautiful smiles belong to Jacob's younger brother Jordan and their mom Bonnie.

After the ceremony, there was a catered nosh at the synagogue by Beth's Culinary Creations. And then this amazing, amazing, amazing celebration at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona. DJ Todd Bristol kept Jacob and his friends on the dance floor the entire night!

There were also the traditional dances that are so much fun.

Part of the evening's entertainment was a photo booth provided by Sedona Photo. The backgrounds are of Sedona's famous red rocks. The photo in the front is Jacob's proud parents Neil & Bonnie.

Almost an Elopement

Gayann & Jonathan were married at Red Rock Crossing by Rev. Andrew in Sedona on August 30th. It was almost an elopement but Jonathan's colleagues from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale joined the celebration.

They were married in the rain with Cathedral Rock in the background.

The creek was so high from the monsoons that the stepping stones were completely covered so we weren't able to cross. It definitely created a dramatic backdrop.

This photograph is for their biking team back in Canada, which is how they first met. It's a finishing line celebration shot!

Gayann said that this is how you can typically find them.

This is Ron's idea of a ring shot :)
